February 18--Devilish
Merry True to tradition, true to the impulse
to make music that speaks from and to the soul, Devilish Merry
makes music that is mellow and edgy, ethereal and intense,
enchanting and nefarious. It's music that you'd likely hear
wandering in the shadows of misty Glendalough and suddenly
coming upon Dock Boggs sitting in with a host of urban shaman.
It's music you've always dreamed you'd dream if you could
ever dream in five dimensions at once and realize that Beauty
Is Everywhere and you can dance to it.
WORKSHOP--Insights into Composing & Arranging,
with Dr. LE McCullough and Burr Beard, with Devilish Merry,
February 18, 2-4pm
McCullough and Beard will compare and contrast their
individual styles, performing and talking about the tunes.
They will also feature material from their new body of work
which evokes the cultural mix of early Pittsburgh settlement
in the 18th century. This workshop will include a demonstration
by the artists, and an opportunity for the attendees to participate.
If you play or sing, plese bring your instruments or voices.
Non-musicians, listeners of all ages and skill levels are
welcome to attend.
